Crafting Precision Grill Components
In response to a request from a beverage dispensing equipment client, CAB Worldwide undertook the manufacturing of a crucial grill component. Upon careful analysis, we identified a huge risk of warpage upon completion, highlighting the importance of ensuring our client’s satisfaction.
The initial cast design was challenging due to its high length versus cross-section ratio, a common precursor to warping during cooling. Leveraging our casting configuration design expertise, we developed an alternative design that mitigated warping potential and reduced costs without compromising functionality.
Using 304 stainless steel and adhering to customer specifications, our vertical turning lathes, horizontal machining centers, and gantry lathes meticulously crafted grill components measuring 29″ long and 3.5″ wide. Our commitment to precision was evident in the components’ finish to 32Ra and adherence to ±0.001″ tolerances.
Throughout manufacturing, rigorous testing including linear, angular, and positioning inspections, ensured quality control. Additionally, our capabilities extend to CMM inspection if required.
The Outcome
In an impressive display of efficiency, we delivered 2,000 grill components to our client’s location in Glendale Heights, IL, just four business days after securing release.
