Our client, operating in the mobile refuse collection industry, sought cost-saving measures without sacrificing functionality. Recognizing the potential benefits, we designed and produced 11 castings to replace multiple fabricated components, significantly reducing expenses.

During the transition, we encountered challenges ensuring proper solidification of the castings, which led to slight geometry variations compared to the original fabrications. Undeterred, we meticulously created 3D models and 2D machined drawings to align with the client’s requirements, verifying clearances and dimensional tolerances for seamless integration.

Utilizing our vertical turning lathes, horizontal machining centers, and gantry lathes, we manufactured the castings to precise tolerances of ±0.002″, finishing them to a roughness average of 32. Our comprehensive inspection process, including Go/No-Go gauging, upheld the highest quality standards for the 35″ long and 40″ wide tailgate assemblies.
